If we reach the point where your PC needs to be repaired by our technicians, and you are not dropping the PC off, then we’ll ask for you to repackage and ship the PC back to us. As long as you have the required materials, this shouldn’t be a complicated process.

However, before you begin repackaging your PC for shipping, we’d recommend taking pictures of your PC before, and after it’s packaged. This is to ensure if anything happens during shipping, we’ll know what’s wrong.

Necessary Materials

When it comes to repackaging your PC for shipping, there are FOUR essential items that you will need to gather. These items will ensure that your PC is properly packaged and protected throughout the shipping process.

  1. Original PC Box: The original PC box provides an ideal container for repackaging your PC. It is specifically designed to fit your computer case and offers adequate protection. This box is not required, especially if you’ve had your PC for more than 30 days.
  2. PC Case Box: In case you don’t have the original PC box or if it’s not suitable for repackaging, you can use the PC case box. This box should be large enough to accommodate your computer case comfortably. It will provide protection and structural support during transportation.
  3. GPU Box and Packaging Materials: The PC is not guaranteed to be handled with care by the shipping company when in transport. We included Instapak with your PC, to minimize movement, but we recommend putting the GPU in its original box. The GPU box is designed to hold the graphics card securely, protecting it from potential damage. If you don’t have the original box, keeping it in the PC, and having the Instapak snuggly fit in is OK.
  4. Shipping Label and Tape: To ensure your PC ships, it’s crucial to have a shipping label (which we will supply) and tape readily available. The tape will be used to seal the boxes securely, preventing any accidental openings during transit.

Unplug, Disconnect, and Take Out

Before repackaging your PC, it is important to remove all accessories and cables. To ensure its safety during transportation, we’d recommend removing the GPU, but if you don’t have the original box. By following these steps, you can minimize the risk of damage and ensure a smooth repackaging experience.

Unplug Cables and Accessories: Disconnect all cables from the exterior of the PC and accessories from your PC. This includes power cords, USB cables, audio cables, Wi-Fi antennas, and any other peripheral devices that may be externally connected. Take extra care when detaching cables to avoid any unnecessary strain on the connectors or ports. If it came with the PC, we’d recommend including it in the box as we may need to test it.

Removing and Packaging the GPU: If you don’t have the Instapak foam or a suitable alternative, it’s recommended to remove the GPU for added safety. Open the PC case and locate the GPU. Gently disconnect any power cables and unscrew the screws securing the GPU to the case. Find the GPU latch and push it in, which should pop out, and let you slide out the GPU. Take caution not to damage any other components during this process. Once the GPU is detached, place it in the GPU box. If you still have the original GPU box, use it to provide extra protection.
